Role
Exhibition Design, Graphic Design, Project Management
This exhibition features eighteen albumen prints by 19th-century expedition photographers William Henry Jackson and John K. Hillers, whose images of the American West reflect a legacy of imperialist narratives. Today, these photographs are reinterpreted through the perspectives of the Zuni and Hopi Tribes and the Diné Nation, whose ancestors are depicted—reclaiming visual sovereignty and challenging
the settler gaze.
We collaborated with graduate Museum Studies curatorial students to shape the physical and visual presentation of the show. Our role included developing the exhibition and graphic design concepts, assisting with installation, and supporting project management throughout the process.
